A former social work certificate, apprentice program worker raises questions about vetting for people working with vulnerable persons. Is a record check enough?
After fraudulent charges against an Edmonton man, were withdrawn by city police, and an investigation into the incident continues. The question of human rights and inclusivity in Edmonton and Alberta is less than stellar. It’s not the program and services at fault, but the poor background checks and continued vetting of staff working not just in the police, but in support services for people with disabilities, mental health issues, and homelessness.
This victim's case of a brutal attack by city police, including the once EPS poster cop, Constable Robert Brown, has shown how biased and disturbed members of support services are towards victims of crime. Edmonton, it seems, and other parts of Alberta, show a disturbing rise in spiteful and nasty attacks, not just physically, but online to hurt others. These individuals clearly have their own racist and bigoted agendas, possibly even criminal. If the police can’t be trusted to investigate crimes, then the rot goes much deeper.

Canada’s mental health system and its treatment of the poor and homeless is recognized globally and by the UN as having serious concerns. People working with agencies dealing with homelessness, inclusivity, autism, and disabilities have recently incurred a blow by one of the allegedly well-suited staff members.
The woman in question spent part of her life in care as her father was unwilling and unable to continue raising his son and daughter to make way for his new wife. Combine this with her father’s and her own delusions about the world around them, their importance in life, and other people, and it’s no surprise that the man attacked by police in East Edmonton continues to struggle with getting on with his life. He has a job. He works hard, but is currently living with his sister and her husband.

He has a job. He works hard, but is currently living with his sister and her husband.
The husband is the sister of the woman in question. Because of malicious, spiteful, and deluded attacks upon the police victim’s mother recently, including at her place of work, where the attacker contacted a newspaper in Israel to have an article removed based on what the attacker and her father were trying to cover up. They didn’t want the new step-mother and the woman’s husband and family to know about her brother’s criminal and mental health history. She also wanted to cover up hers and her family’s mental health history and criminal-type behaviors. The list of deceits goes on.
This same woman works with disabled people, despite having developmental and mental health issues. In her LinkedIn posts she claims to be the champion of human rights, but behind the scenes, her paranoid delusions about her brother’s in-laws have caused over a decade of untold misery and discrimination. It’s this woman that’s one example of the rot in Edmonton’s social services and supports that needs to be ousted and properly managed.
Because mental health, homelessness, and disabilities are targeted as unwanted and brought on by themselves, that woman, who is supposed to be helping and changing lives around for the better, is destroying lives behind the scenes. As a director at an inclusivity and human rights agency in Edmonton’s Westend, the woman is proof perfect that Alberta’s health system is not only broken, but dangerous.

The woman is gloating to her new husband and family that she had victory against her brother’s mother-in-law, by getting the Israeli newspaper to take down an article that she wrote about her son’s attack. However, the woman’s deluded and mentally ill arrogance may not last for long. The mother-in-law had already contacted the paper to remove the article from the section simply as the section wasn’t about news. The article can be reinstated in a different section, once the mother-in-law provides the sources and proof to the paper. So, the woman’s deluded and spiteful act of criminal harassment against the mother-in-law will be short lived.
The article discussed the attack on the man in Edmonton, mentioning the issues at hand and that the brother-in-law had a bad history. Nothing was mentioned about the sister of the brother-in-law at all. Legally speaking, this was an act of criminal harassment. And this woman has been warned by Red Deer Police some years before.

The mother-in-law is speaking to lawyers about the act. Whether the woman concerned will enjoy her freedom for long is open to the imagination. Under the Canadian Criminal Code, criminal harassment and stalking have the penalty of up to fifteen years in a federal jail.
In the meantime, the concern about the woman’s bad influences on her autistic brother will be raised. Once legal redress has begun, it is hoped that the woman will be removed from working with the disabled, mentally ill, and needy because it’s logical to assume that it may be a matter of time before that woman attacks someone else, maybe one of her clients.

In a recent article by the CBC about social work in Alberta, that someone needs to be watching them, too, because of: deceptive, discriminatory, and abusive practices; and mandatory policies and rules that are being ignored. The article clearly pointed out that many lack experience and that without supervision, some are lying to get their jobs done. What about this article’s woman? Who is watching her? And when are people working with the mentally ill, disabled, and homeless going to be held to a higher standard and vetted not just by a police check, but a full detailed and on-going background check?
Bottom line – this woman is clearly using her power to abuse others. Lacking empathy and using spite to get revenge, this woman is dangerous. Her unwarranted attacks and interferences should be seen by Alberta Health and those hiring her as a danger to others. Had she been investigated and checked out properly, she would have never been allowed to work where she works or criminally harass those that she does.
